You can show a child they’re loved
In Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Salesian missionaries are making a positive difference in the lives of homeless children.
Through programs like Hogar Maria Auxiliadora (“the Hogar”), girls ages 2-17 receive shelter, warm meals, opportunities for education and recreation, and the chance to learn skills that will benefit them for a lifetime—all in a family environment where they feel safe, protected and loved. This long-term residential home offers exactly the kind of ongoing support orphaned and abandoned children need to strengthen their hope, and begin building, bright futures.

All across Bolivia, youth are in crisis. Thousands of precious boys and girls, some as young as six years old, are living on the streets right now. Hogar Maria Auxiliadora joins several other Salesian-run shelters focused on rescuing and rehabilitating these vulnerable children … but the growing need exceeds our ability to serve all of them.
Please don’t leave them all alone.
Veronica was abandoned by her family without understanding why. This precious little 8-year-old girl could have easily been lost forever. Fortunately, Veronica found her way to the Hogar—where she earned the nickname Querida, from the Spanish “to love.” Every time she hears it, Veronica is reassured of her worth.
